DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITY

Property owners or their representatives who wish to build, renovate, or alter an existing building must obtain Building Consent from the local authority if the work is not exempted under Schedule 1 of the Building Act 2004. They are responsible for doing so as stipulated in Section 14B of the Building Act 2004

1) Discuss the project and provide advice
2) Reach an agreement between the Owner and AGENTNZ
3) Select & Appoint designers/ Other professionals
4) Coordinate with other involved parties
5) Hold a pre-application meeting with BCA or prepare BC documentation
6) Submit the application for BC /Follow up with BCA/Obtain BC approvals
7) Provide final advice on the BC's conditions, inspections, and documents required
for compliance
8) Commence site work with owners' selected Builders 9) Follow up on inspections and results
10) Complete the Building work
11) Collect documents from all parties
12) Apply for CCC/ Follow up with BCA/Obtain CCC
13) Finalize the Service agreement
